Your attention belongs to you. Sanctuary Launcher is built by Galadriel Labs on the principle of minimal data collection and local-first processing. In short: Sanctuary has no account system, no advertising SDKs, no behavioral analytics, and no developer-operated cloud, and it does not sell data.
Core Principles
- No Sanctuary account: You do not need to create an account to use the app.
- No advertising SDKs: We do not include third-party ad networks.
- No behavioral analytics: We do not track how you use the app to sell or analyze your behavior.
- No developer-operated cloud: We do not sync your intention history or usage data to our servers.
- No sale of data: We do not sell your personal data. Period.
Data Processing & Storage
All core functionality—including your intention history, daily limits, and focus mode schedules—is processed and stored locally on your device. We offer a user-initiated local export/import feature so you can back up your data manually.
Permissions We Request
Accessibility Service (Optional)
To display Intention Gates or daily-limit screens over apps you specify, Sanctuary needs to know when those apps are opened. Android apps can be launched from many places (notifications, widgets, the recent apps screen). The Accessibility Service permission allows Sanctuary to detect when a specified app enters the foreground reliably.
What we do not do: We do not use this permission to retrieve screen content. We do not read your passwords, messages, form fields, or keystrokes.
Notification Access (Optional)
To provide the Notification Digest feature, Sanctuary requires notification access. This allows the app to intercept non-urgent notifications from apps you select and hold them until your scheduled delivery time.
Notification titles and previews are stored locally on your device and are cleared once delivered. We do not transmit notification content off your device.
Purchases and Subscriptions
Purchases of Sanctuary Pro and subscription management are handled entirely by Google Play. We do not collect, process, or store your payment information (such as credit card numbers). Google's privacy policy and terms apply to billing data.

We may update this policy occasionally as the app evolves. Significant changes will be noted within the app or on this page. Because we do not require an email address, checking this page is the best way to stay informed.
